School Lunch Hacks

School Lunch Hacks

With the return of school comes the return of packing school lunches. Whether you pack at night or in the morning, it’s just one more thing to add to the To Do list. We’ve got some Lunch Packing Hacks for you to help make it easier.

Prep Ahead of Time: On Sunday, take the extra time prepare plastic bags of snacks like trail mix, chips, or crackers. That way during the week you just need to grab a bag and put it in the lunch box. You can also make PB&J sandwiches for the week all at once and put them in the freezer.

Separate Food Items: If your Tupperware isn’t already sectioned off for different foods, you can use cupcake liners to divide them.

Edible Ice Pack: No need to waste space with an ice pack. Instead, freeze juice boxes and throw one in. It’ll thaw in time for lunch while also keeping the rest of the food cool.

Keeping Food Hot: A thermos isn’t just for soup! You can use it to pack mac & cheese, chicken nuggets, or even scrambled eggs. Before you put the cooked food inside, pour boiling water into the thermos, close the lid, and let it sit for 5-6 minutes. This is a great time to reheat or cook the food you’re putting inside. Then, pour out the water, dry the inside with a paper towel if needed, and put the food inside.
