VIDEO: Three Items You Can Make at Home to Save the Earth and Money

Did you know you can make the cleaning products you use everyday right at home? DIY products are a great way to save money and can also be better for the environment. Because you are using fewer harsh chemicals, you can feel good about making these cleaning products right at home.

Laundry Detergent

Step One: Grate 1 cup worth of soap into a bowl

Step Two: Add 1/2 cup borax

Step Three: Add 1/2 cup washing soda

Step Four: Mix together, and you’re ready to do some laundry!

Deodorizing Spray

Step One: Pour 1/8 cup of fabric softener into a small bowl

Step Two: Add 2 tablespoons baking soda

Step Three: Pour into a spray bottle

Step Four: Fill the rest with hot water and shake well before use.

Dishwasher Soap

Step One: Measure out 1/2 cup of baking soda into a bowl

Step Two: Add 1/2 cup borax

Step Three: Stir and place in a container. You’ll only need 2 tablespoons per load!
