But first, coffee.

It’s become quite the popular saying for shirts or canvas prints. But, ultimately there is something that must come before coffee… a clean coffee maker. Cleaning your coffee maker regularly will ensure your coffee tastes fresh and will remove any hard water deposits.

Did you know you can clean your coffee maker with denture tablets?

That’s right! Denture tablets, which are traditionally used to clean grime off of dentures to keep them sparkling clean, can also be used as tool to clean your coffee maker!

What makes denture tablets an effective cleaning solution?

With ingredients like sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), sodium hypochlorite, and citric acid, denture tablets can disinfect, whiten, and remove stains easily!

Benefits of using denture tablets:

Denture tablets provide a cost effective cleaning solution, as a pack of tablets usually costs just $10.

Additionally, there are no harsh smells to deal with and they save you time and effort because you don’t need to scrub at stains.

How to clean your favorite coffee maker with denture tablets:

Auto-Drip Coffee Maker:

Fill up the back of the auto-drip tank with warm water. Drop two tablets into the water, and let them fully dissolve. Run the coffee pot through a regular cycle and once complete, fill the tank up with only warm water and start again. You can also clean the coffee pot by dropping in denture tablets as well. Just let them sit in warm water and voila!

Keurig:

Cleaning a Keurig is very similar to the auto-drip process. Simply fill up the reservoir with warm water, drop in a couple tablets and let them dissolve. Run the mixture into mugs until the reservoir is completely empty. Repeat the process again with only warm water and your Keurig will be good as new.

French Press:

For a French Press, you must disassemble all the parts to get a thorough clean. Separate the lid, the plunger, the filter screens, and the disks and rinse off any leftover grounds. Fill up the sink with warm water and drop in three to four denture tablets. Once they have fully dissolved, add in the French Press parts. Let sit until residue is mostly gone, scrub off any excess, and towel dry.
