With business ownership experience under his belt, along with working as director of retail for the Barbat Organization and being a business consultant for a Fortune 100 Company, Jeremy Schmidt is excited to bring his skills to his next adventure of purchasing The Cleaning Authority of Appleton. Jeremy, who has an MBA from Wayne State College and is working on his Doctorate in Business at California Southern University, was looking for a change after working in the retail industry for more than 20 years.
“You’re working 24/7, managing inventory, working late nights, weekends, and holidays. I really was just burned out and sick of it,” he said. “The prospect of a regular service-type industry with more of a regular 9 to 5 is very appealing. The 24/7 convenience operations are tough, and it's something that I’m very excited to put behind me.”
Because of his entrepreneurial background, franchising wasn’t something Jeremy was open to at first, but he couldn’t ignore the opportunity with The Cleaning Authority. “When I came to the Appleton office and met with the current owner, that really changed my perception on franchising,” he said. “I saw the system, technology, and marketing first hand and really saw The Cleaning Authority’s commitment to their franchisees. It’s a really successful model, and it really kind of changed my mind about franchises.”
Jeremy is looking forward to expand on the great office that the previous owner has built in the Appleton area. "It's a big market, and it's a booming market,” he said. “There is untapped potential that the current owner held off on while she was approaching retirement. I think we could grow this office pretty substantially.”Jeremy is looking forward to re-enter the business-owning world with the support of a franchise system to assist him along the way.
