The Cleaning Authority CARES’ Inaugural Campaign Provides 100,518 Meals Across North America
With support from customers like you, The Cleaning Authority CARES is addressing hunger in our communities. More than 52 million people in North America are considered food insecure - or lacking reliable access to a sufficient quantity of nutritious food. Of that group, more than 16 million of them are under the age of 18.
This summer, The Cleaning Authority CARES conducted its first food drive with great success. Across more than 150 locations of The Cleaning Authority in North America, customers donated 13,883 bags, totaling 120,622 pounds of food. This amount will provide 100,518 meals to those in need.
“Words cannot express how appreciative we are to benefit from your generosity,” said Todd McPherson of Integrated Family Community Services, where the Denver South office donated their food. “We are indebted for your kindness and assistance in supporting our year-round hunger and poverty alleviation programs. It is great to garner your support and ‘hands up’ to our clients in need.”
To further put what was collected into perspective, what we collected is about the same weight of 20 elephants, and if you were to stack the grocery bags on top of each other, it would be the height of 13 Empire State Buildings!
The Cleaning Authority of Fairfax donated their collection to Food for Others. “What a tremendous effort, and greatly appreciated during the summer months when it is more difficult for us to keep our shelves full. We truly appreciate your support,” said Vincenza Githens of Food for Others.
We are so thankful to everyone who was able to participate in this program. Your donations make a real difference in the lives of hungry families.
