Husband and wife duo Doug and Jennienne Burke are opening The Cleaning Authority of Stamford together after many years spent building separate careers.
Doug moved to the United States from Jamaica in the 1980s to pursue the American Dream. He spent much of his career in finance, but always considered becoming his own boss through business ownership. Jennienne has worked in public health for the past 10 years, and has recently been involved in human service organizations focused on community engagement and children’s developmental health.
The couple recently began actively exploring the franchising industry. They initially thought the restaurant industry was a great fit for them, but after working with a consultant, learned that The Cleaning Authority was a better match.
“A franchise coach proposed the concept to us and when we met with management, the company culture felt like it was a right fit, “Doug said.
The Burkes are eager to join The Cleaning Authority system and hope to incorporate their enthusiasm for community outreach into the business. Jennienne’s involvement as a member of the local board of education will allow the couple to give back to local area residents through The Cleaning Authority.
