My New Rowing Machine

A couple of months ago I purchased this rowing machine from Amazon. I was determined that now that my girls were sleeping more through the night and I wasn’t in a constant state of exhaustion that it was time to recommit to the fitness goals- regain the pre-babies body back. Well, it has been a couple months and that wonderful rowing machine is still in the box and hidden in the coat closet now. My husband politely reminds me that it is in there. Sweet, right? Well, with fall coming and coat season approaching I decided to finally break it out last weekend, but then my girls decided they didn’t want to nap and I thought let’s go outside and play that should tire them out. Now people are always saying don’t worry about exercising, chasing those babies around will keep you thin. Which got me thinking. How many calories do you burn playing with your kids? Well, I found a helpful calculator on Self magazine’s website! According to this too, I burn over 350 calories while playing with my kids. woohoo! It’s not the 450+ calories I would burn using the rowing machine for the same amount of time, but for around 100 calories difference I’ll take the quality time with my girls and make up the 100 calories at dinner.
